Status Anxiety

Are you suffering from status anxiety?

Are you worried that your position in society is less than it should be? Do you have a degree, but are doing a minimum wage job?

No matter how many times you tell yourself that you don't want a professional career, that you want to go your own way, you still feel envious of your friends who start a career and after a year of two start earning "good" money.

Your position in society does not define who you are, and everything you can be. Yes, you may be underachieving and it may be time to change things, but your job or the amount you earnt last year doesn't mean that next year has to be the same. Change comes slowly, but it can also happen all of a sudden.

Don't listen to those who insist it's not realistic to dream big dreams just because at the moment you work a temporary job, or are unemployed. There are plenty of examples of people who have come from your position to earn far more than your friends who are earning "good" money, and to achieve their dreams largley because they had the audacity to dream those big dreams.

We are off to Paris later today. Haven't quite packed yet! Won't take long because you're limited by the weight allowance. It will be good to get away from everything for a week.

Anyway, see you next week.
