From Benidorm

Posting this from the hotel reception in Benidorm. Having a good holiday so far, though the weather today has been pretty bad. Heavy rain, so bad that our walk into the mountains was cancelled

The last couple of days has been very warm and sunny in contrast to the snow and ice in the UK. Ran barefoot down the beach yesterday for 10 minutes -- splashing in the sea occasionally. That was a great feeling! That was after a challenging walk up a rocky mountain. The terrain is very different to the UK-- the land is dried out, and there's lots of thorny sticks at ankle height that are virtually impossible to avoid.
